The student pays the College an administrative fee and pays tuition directly to her preceptor(s). There is the additional cost of books, extra courses not offered by the preceptor, such as neonatal resuscitation, IV course, CPR, continuing education, etc.
There are also the costs of applying to be an apprentice in some states, costs of belonging to local and national midwifery organizations, costs of state, association and/or national exams. This means that the student will need to take all these costs into account as well as the costs of living.
Some programs do not allow students to work while they are in midwifery training. This means you must have means of support to get you through the two to five years it could take to fulfill all the requirements.
The College administration is available to help you identify all the possible costs.
Unfortunately, Key Educational Resources, our previous student loan company, is discontinuing its program for non-title IV schools. We are currently looking for a replacement company.
Please contact the college for further information.
