The Associate of Science in Midwifery and the Bachelor of Science in Midwifery candidates can only apply to the College when she has an academic/ clinical preceptor already arranged for.
The student applies to the College with her preceptor(s) and all are accepted as a group. The College does not find preceptors for the student.
However, students can place notices on our Bulletin Board looking for preceptors in their area: Bulletin Board
The student/preceptor relationship is wholly voluntary on both sides. The student pays the College an administrative fee only; the preceptor fee is paid directly to the preceptor. Preceptor and student work out the amount and file their mutually agreeable contract with the College. Either party may terminate the relationship at any time by advising the College in writing.
There is no penalty to the student nor to the preceptor. The student is put on inactive status until she applies with a new preceptor(s) and is accepted.
All work the student has completed and filed with the College up to the change in preceptor continues to be valid.
The Master of Science in Midwifery and the Ph.D. in Midwifery candidates do not require clinical placement.
