The Associate Degree of Science in Midwifery is issued when in addition to having met the National College Of Midwifery requirements ( Prerequisites, Skills, Clinical and Academic Course Requirements) the candidate submits evidence of successful completion of a state midwifery licensing examination, a state midwifery associationexamination, or a national midwifery examination.
Special Note: Since the College is a national program serving all 50 states in the U.S., its requirements for clinical experiences are based on those of the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM).
If the student plans to pursue a specific state license/certification, it is the student’s responsibility to make sure s/he meets the state’s requirements in the event that they differ from those of NARM and the College. Regardless of the state the student is in, the clinical requirements listed in this site must be met in order to receive a diploma from the National College of Midwifery.
