Student and Preceptor Evaluation forms are required at the end of each trimester in which the student was active and preceptor were active.

Troubleshooting: Evaluations are set to make sure they allow multiples from the same computer.  If you click refresh  or reload on your browser screen and it still doesn’t work, it probably means that you need to clean your internet browser’s history and cookies. This can be done on any internet browser by going to the top right hand side of the browser and finding “Settings”  Browsing history can be deleted or cleared from there.

PhD Core Courses:

PhD Candidates must complete 42 core curriculum credits relevant to the areas of the candidate’s research, focused on some aspect of midwifery or maternal child health and 18 thesis credits. Of the 42 core curriculum credits the following 3-credit minimum must be obtained in each of the following categories:

Applied Statistics
Protocol Design
Scientific Method
Research Methodologies

Barriers to Midwifery
Ethics
Policy and Procedures
Psychology/Counseling/Sociology
Health Inequities
Evidence Based Practice

To satisfy each of these requirements a student may take:

  1. A pre-approved NCM course,
  2. Self-author a course see Self-Authored Course policy and
    graduate-level self-authored course credit worksheet: .doc .pdf
    or
  3. Transfer a course/course credit from the NCM Master’s program or other approved graduate level course (see"TRANSFER CREDIT" policy tab on Apply page).
